STF Manifesto
Profitable growth for a sustainable future
In Nov 2006 STF launched a manifesto for the Scottish tourism industry, Profitable growth for a sustainable future. This manifesto calls for a business agenda across all government levels which will work in partnership with the industry for the profitable and sustainable growth of Scottish tourism.
The joint strategy set out by the private and public sectors in March this year, calls for a 50% growth between now and 2015. We support that ambition and wish to see it exceeded but on a basis of profitable growth for the industry, a growth that will support re-investment in the product and the people who work in our industry - growth that will be sustainable for the future. Many operators are suffocated under red tape and repeatedly come up against barriers as they try to improve or develop their business.
Our manifesto calls out for a business agenda to be at the heart of government, supported by a range of business incentive schemes that will in return attract higher levels of investment in our industry and a greater return for Scotland.
The manfiesto sets forth the following six key themes:

- Removing Barriers to Growth

- A Sustainable Future
- Investment in Tourism
