Pride & Passion

Pride & Passion was a project to raise the importance of visitor experience in tourism businesses' priorities and to help develop and spread good practice in delivering great experiences to customers.  With visitor experience and product improvement so much more to the fore now, Pride & Passion's funded activities have come to an end.

Some of the resources developed to save businesses time and effort are still available, however, and may be accessed either directly from this page or on request from Scottish Tourism Forum.

Library of Resources

Community Challenge

Case studies of Pride & Passion's 'Community Challenge' projects in Balloch, Dingwall, Keith, Linlithgow, Orkney, Peebles and Pitlochry, where groups were looking to collaborate locally to improve their products, services and trade.

50 Fascinating Facts

Downloadable sets of '50 Fascinating Facts' about over fifty different towns and districts around Scotland. They may be useful for your visitors - you can print them out - or to help your staff familiarise themselves with the background to the local area.

Scottish Food and Drink Suppliers

The 'Local Suppliers' listing covering specialist and niche producers of (mainly) food and drink may save you some research time.

Visitor Experience Workshops

Slides and worksheets from the 2009 'Visitor Experience Workshops' may be useful for staff training, and there are lots of service improvement and collaboration ideas from the various workshops around the country for you to plunder.

Feedback Resources

There are various resources to help you gather 'Feedback' on your business; forms to adapt, templates and so forth.

Tools for your Business

Other diverse 'Tools for your Business' are also available, all aimed at saving you time and effort.  There are Language Guides covering useful basic phrases in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Scots and Gaelic.  There is guidance covering how to write a press release, some 'big questions' you should ask yourself periodically about your business, plain-talking advice about websites and tips on dealing with negative people.

Group Working

Lastly there's a section with guidance on 'Group Working' to help you navigate the choppy waters of collaboration.  There's a networking workshop format, case studies and various 'top tips'.

We hope you find these resources helpful.
