Scottish Tourism Week 2 - 9 March 2009

Thank you to everyone who contribution to, and supported, Scottish Tourism Forum and Scottish Tourism Week.  Scottish Tourism Week 2009 was widely regarded as the most successful in our history.

For the first time, Scottish Tourism Week partnered with ScotHot to launch the event and ran three days of seminars focusing on a wide range of topics affecting the Tourism Industry.  From 2nd - 4th March 9,000 people attended the ScotHot event and over 600 people listened to our 24 speakers including Alex Salmond First Minister for Scotland, Jim Mather Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism and Marco Pierre White.

The STF Conference in Dynamic Earth on 4th March was very successful.  The feedback from delegates has been excellent.  In an online survey of attendees 92% of delegates rated the conference between 7-10 marks out of 10.

The Parliamentary Reception was very positive, over 200 delegates and a considerable number of MSP's registered to attend including Jim Mather MSP and Tavish Scott MSP.

Scottish Tourism Week was officially closed at the Industry Dinner on 9th March in the George Hotel, Edinburgh.  The Dinner was an excellent opportunity for everyone to reflect on the week's events and think about moving the industry forward in the present challenging economic situation.
