It is a great honour to represent the people of North Tayside in the Scottish Parliament since 1999. Prior to my election here, I represented the constituency in Westminster after the 1997 General Election. I was elected to Parliament after many years of political activity having joined my Party at the age of 15. Before my election I had to juggle my political life with my professional job as a business consultant and a strategic planner for a major Scottish insurance company. Now I juggle political life with family life with my wife Elizabeth and my two children.
