Tourism provides one of the key building blocks of the Scottish economy; it is an industry that is made up of many different operators across many different locations. Tourism requires a collective approach that allows local tourism businesses to effectively contribute to the local economy with a focussed support from the public sector in that particular area.
There is a need for entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and a sense of community both locally and nationally.
In Scotland it is recognised that investment is essential as a means of supporting growth across the industry and accessibility is the key element that impacts on the tourism offer across Scotland.
Iain Herbert, Chief Executive of Scottish Tourism Forum will be reporting on the review of the TFFC and the next step forward. Iain will discuss the TFFC's reviews on priorities on accessibility; with the National Tourism Investment plan, and the focus on skills, marketing and sales with a view to maximising growth across Scotland
