Iain Herbert
Born and educated in Edinburgh, Iain has worked with several different premier Scottish tourism agencies, including the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre as General Manager, and as Operations Manager for The Royal Yacht Britannia. He moved on to head up the successful Falkirk Wheel project, which formed the centrepiece of the Millennium Link, a project to re-open the Lowland Canal network, which had closed in 1962.Iain then became Head of Visitor Operations for National Museums Scotland, covering their six sites, including the Royal Museum and the Museum of Scottish Country Life. In this role, he was responsible for the development of the new Concorde attraction at the Museum of Flight.
More recently Iain was Operations Director for Hadrian's Wall Heritage Ltd, encouraging sustainable tourism and regeneration of the 74 mile long and 10 mile wide corridor of the World Heritage Site. During the company's first five months he also took on the role of Acting CEO
