Louise Nowell
Louise Nowell is the Head of Sales and Marketing for SYHA Hostelling Scotland, a position she has held since 2005. In that time, she has helped move SYHA to a more commercial stance with a more vigorous and strategic approach to marketing and sales development.
Louise is a Chartered Marketer and her 20-year career in Marketing has spanned a range of industry sectors, with a particular emphasis on education marketing. Positions have included Marketing Manager at Perth College; education marketing consultant to a range of colleges and universities including the University of the Highlands and Islands; and most recently Director of Development and Marketing at Strathallan School in Perthshire. Louise's move to the Tourism sector has presented a fresh set of challenges, but also the rewards of seeing an important and respected organisation grow and develop for the future.
Born and raised in England, Louise's first visit to Scotland was a youth hostelling holiday shortly before coming to University in Stirling. Apart from a very brief career move south of the border, Scotland has been "home" ever since, and her fate will be sealed when she marries a Highlander in 2010!
